Plant Fairs
Once again we are delighted to announce two Flower Power Fair (www.flowerpowerfairs.co.uk) dates for the forthcoming season from 11.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday 8th April and Monday 27th August 2012.
These Fairs, run by Judy Popley who is incredibly enthusiastic and hard-working, provide access to some of the North's most passionate and prominent nurseries and plant growers who provide rare, unusual, good quality and reasonably priced plants. Many of the plants on offer are no longer readily available and this, combined with the expert advice and knowledge that these keen plants people are only too happy to share, makes these days enormously rewarding and enjoyable. They are also a favourite with the family with four generations working on the days last year.
Entry to the Fairs is £3.00 and this also provides access to the entire 40 acres of Priory grounds, formal gardens and woodland walks. The House will be open to the public on an informal walkround basis from 11.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm. The Tearooms in the old Priory kitchens will also be open throughout the day providing a wide range of home-made cakes and teas.
This is now the fifth year of Flower Power fairs at Newburgh Priory and with the enormous success of the previous four years we look forward to their return this April.

The Yorkshire Terrier
Following on from last years incredibly popular Green Belter race we are very excited to announce a new event for 2012 - The Yorkshire Terrier . Described as a 'reet mucky romp in't woods at night' and part of the now legendary Rat Race Notorious Night Run series it promises to be a fantastic off-road running event like no other.
Run by the team who brought you the legendary Rat Race there is the option of either a 5km daytime course or 10km day and nightime course taking you through some of the most picturesque and muddy parts of the Estate. The terrain is carefully chosen to provide a testing physical and mental challenge and the courses are littered with muddy areas and obstacles.
After the event there is the even more Notorious After-Party with local food, drink and bands on site to help you relax and party into the night. Parking is free and the campsite is located within the grounds of the Priory. The event is designed for runners who take their fun seriously and dressing up is highly encouraged.
The event takes place on 10th March 2012 and for more information or to book your entrance please visit the website www.ratraceadventure.com/notorious/ytindex.html.
