Newburgh Priory is a magical location for your perfect day. Brimming with old fashioned charm and elegance it provides the ideal venue for civil ceremonies and wedding receptions.
Founded as a monastery in 1145 Newburgh is a magnificent stately home surrounded by 40 acres of picturesque grounds, lakes and ancient woodland. Steeped in history and set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the house provides uninterrupted views across the lake to the Hambleton Hills and the White Horse. The house's monastic past, together with the fact that it has been a much loved family home for nearly 500 years, provides a marvellous serenity and warmth to this venue.

Civil ceremonies can be held in one of three superb Georgian rooms for up to 100 people and small receptions can be held within the house. For larger receptions there is a choice of two wonderful locations for a marquee: firstly the magnificent setting on the ancient lawn with the entire house as a back-drop together with views over the spectacular parkland; or secondly the atmospheric setting within the ruined walls of the Long Gallery - magical, dramatic and unique the lit up ruin provides a perfect and memorable location.
The house, grounds and lake provide a stunning venue and back-drop for photographs. With warm old stone, arched doorways, hidden gardens and a romantic ruin with fig trees and ivy and rose clad walls the opportunities are as limitless as your imagination.

It's ethos is based on the idea of being a great pub that also serves fantastic country cooking. With warm open fires, an elegant dining room and beautiful garden it is little wonder that the Fauconberg Arms is such a well known and well-loved pub.
In addition to the two bars and separate restaurant it also offers excellent accommodation through a selection of reasonably priced en-suite bedrooms. Elegantly decorated they provide a peaceful retreat from which to explore all of North Yorkshire.
