The Newburgh Priory Christmas Fair this year will welcome over twenty artisan businesses from across the UK, as well as, a series of events taking place over the three days. *please see detailed exhibitor list on priddenprandevents.com
The fair opens with a reception evening on Thursday 29th November (5-9pm) with carols sung by the Ampleforth College Choir, in front of the impressive 17th century chimneypiece, attributed to sculptor and architect Nicholas Stone, complimentary drinks and canapés and a free (re-usable) shopping bag are included in the ticket price (£10 to be purchased in advance).
On Friday 30th November (10am - 5pm, tickets £5 purchased on the door) at 11am Ed Kluz with give a talk on his book ’The Lost House Revisited and at 2.30pm Clarey Wrightson will host a wreath making workshop.
On the Saturday The Gingerbread House will host a ginger bread house workshop. These events will take place in the Black Gallery and the Justice Room (the oldest part of the house, thought to be part of the original building dated 1145).
Tickets for ALL events are to be purchased in advance and include entry to the fair.

- Friday 30th November, 11am - 12noon: Artist, illustrator and printmaker, Ed Kultz will host a talk and Q&A session on his recent book, ‘The Lost House Revisited’. Tickets £15
- Friday 30th November, 2.30pm - 4.30pm: wreath making workshop with Manor Garden Flowers. Tickets £40 (includes all materials).
- Saturday 1st December, 11am - 12noon: gingerbread house workshop with Liz Druce from The Gingerbread House. Tickets: £15 (child) £30 (adult).
Highlights of the fair include; Yorkshire sculptor Emma Stothard launching exclusive new work including an installation of outdoor sculpture and a range of smaller pieces. This year’s *invitation is illustrated by Christopher brown, a well-known artist in the industry who assisted Edward Bawden, exhibited at the Royal Academy, the V&A and worked extensively in publishing. Christopher will be represented at the fair by Michael Parkin Fine Art.
Kirks Coffee House take over the old Priory kitchens on the Friday & Saturday; providing homemade, locally sourced food, soft drinks, fresh coffee and mulled wine.
The Newburgh Priory Christmas Trees will be on sale in the ruined Long Gallery throughout the fair.
The fair is in support of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. JIA affects around 15,000 children in the UK.
